Myrtle Beach has a new chapter ahead, a new story to tell.

This Thursday, November 23, 2017, Myrtle Beach has much to be thankful for.

We have a talented, new incoming mayor.

Mayor Elect – Brenda Bethune

Myrtle Beach has a new story to tell.

The heroes of this most-recent change election include all of the above as well as city resident voters and county activists, particularly in the Carolina Forest community. These Carolina Forest patriots started a new revolution of inclusion and accountability.

Every Child Wants To Grow Up To Be The Hero Of His Or Her Own Story

As a child, I often dreamed of growing up to be the hero of my own story.  I pictured the adult version of me rushing into a dangerous situation to save the day like a 2017 John Wayne or a Bruce Willis risking all and dying hard.

It was only after a few key failures, that I first realized I could never be the hero of my own story.  It happens to most of us around the age of forty.  Humans always fail and fall short of their own idealized versions of themselves.

In failing, however, I found the hero of my story.  The hero had been there all along, just waiting for me to ask him to rush in and rescue us all.

I had to fail completely to find him.

On this day of Thanksgiving, at MyrtleBeachSC.com, we give thanks to the hero of Myrtle Beach’s coming transformational story. Truth is, no one but God can do a job this big. God works through people, however, and when the right people step forward, great things happen.

A fresh, new wind is coming.  Myrtle Beach will experience the sunny day and picture perfect season the city constantly promotes.  Soon the story will be true.

However, if God isn’t the hero of this city’s story,  then there isn’t one. He is either the Spirit of inspiration that works inside each of us, or we collectively stumble around in the dark [hiding] trying to get what is ours, constantly looking for a flashlight.

Myrtle Beach is ready for change.  We will no longer live in mere shadows with imperfect and corrupt systems.  Myrtle Beach will thrive in the sunlight of inspiration, inclusion, community and growth.

Today, our team would like to give God thanks in advance.

Happy Thanksgiving from MyrtleBeachSC.com
