Ground Zero responded to the Sun News and Mark Kruea’s, City of Myrtle Beach Public Information Officer, concerns about whether the group is inclusive.
Scott Paysuer, of Ground Zero, states in the video below that the group is very inclusive. Any teen can attend Ground Zero’s ongoing activities and functions.

DESIGNED FOR A PURPOSE
Ground Zero is a discipleship outreach dedicated to helping developing teens understand (and love) their design, purpose, identity, and meaning.
MyrtleBeachSC News is in the process of purchasing a new truck. We need it to haul and transport equipment that we can not fit into my SUV.
I also own a SUV. Both of these cars fall into the category of vehicles, but each has a special design and purpose.
As we move into AI, we can imagine a future world, where a truck can decide that it would prefer to ignore the existence of its creator and independently choose to be a SUV, or maybe even a house. It has a roof, has A.C., entertainment. Why not?
ABOUT HOME
Discipleship has gotten a bad rap for the last 70 years. Somehow discipleship became painted as something authoritarian. What if discipleship is nothing more than learning about how we were individually created (from birth) so that we can fulfill our own unique destiny.
At MyrtleBeachSC News, we believe our spirits are wiser than we are. Every human spirit will search until it finds the unique place that it can call home. Because of our unique design, that home may look very different from others.
BUT WE KNOW WHEN WE HAVE FOUND HOME! Home is the place where you find rest, peace, hope, meaning, purpose, and acceptance for who you were created to be.
IS PURPOSE, MEANING AND DESTINY A PRODUCT OF DESIGN?
Home is about finding yourself, your design, your meaning, and your purpose. A creator knows the person he created, his/her highest potential, and best purpose. It is simply impossible to know your purpose and destiny unless your creator takes the driver’s seat and guides the vehicle. That transfer of control does not change your DNA, but rather, empowers it.
Once upon a time, parents and the church modeled this, they taught this, and lived this out in community.
In an ancient text called Revelations, we are told much about our design that God purposed within us from birth. It speaks of when we stand before God after this life ends. It reads, I will also give you a white stone inscribed with a new name, known only to the one who receives it. This name is said to be a series of numbers that will uniquely describe all we were created to be from birth. An example might be a thoughtful tactician who loves perfecting the details of life, applying creativity and rationality to everything you do. Your inner world is often private and complex. You have a small circle of life long friends that count you as treasured.
When you read your stone for the first time, you will exclaim… “This is exactly who I am!”
It may read: You are a spontaneous, resourceful, and outgoing individual. You are an inspirational performer and you are an artful entertainer who can articulately tell the great story of all that I (GOD) am. I created you to proclaim the great stories of me because life is all about the great and magical story of me.
It may read that you are energized by time spent with others (Extraverted). You focus on facts and details rather than ideas and concepts. You make decisions based on logic and reason and you prefer to be planned and organized rather than spontaneous and flexible.
The message will vary in billions of ways, uniquely capturing every created person.
To live anywhere, other than home, is to live in uncertainty, confusion, discomfort, and chaos -forever hungry, forever starving.
HOW CAN WE KNOW OUR DESIGN, PURPOSE AND MEANING WITHOUT KNOWING OUR CREATOR?
Ground Zero helps people connect to God through Christ. In that connection teens find home, purpose, and meaning.
It also helps young teens make the God connection. When that connection occurs, it is much like living a life on spiritual steroids. Those who make this connection operate in high authority.
HOWEVER, IF YOU SHOULD BELIEVE THERE IS NO GOD?
Not believing in God or creation or meaning is a right and a freedom.
Man is wise enough to create homes, cars, boats, planes, skyscrapers, and the internet for his own desires and purposes.
The systems of this earth, this universe, are intricate. Could they really be a product of happenstance? Every person will cross this decision point at some time in their livers. It is his or her divine right to choose as they decide.
Even if you do think the God stuff is a fairy tale, aren’t you proud to live in an America that gives us the freedom to choose what we believe?
My best friend tells me that reality is my friend. When we do lunch he says, believe as you wish, and eat what you want, but reality is your friend.
