The Hundred Milers check into City of Myrtle Beach hotels beginning this Friday, June 4th.

Most of these young tourists will graduate high school that same day. Hundred milers are high school graduates who live within a 100 mile radius of the City of Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach Hotels are the only group of hotels that are willing to accept these graduates along the Grand Strand.

Most Myrtle Beach Hotels are property management concerns. The actual owner of each hotel room lives out of state. Those rooms are then managed by a property manager.

MyrtleBeachSC News received reports this week that many of the condo owners are now choosing to opt out of renting their properties because of guests like the hundred milers. Condo owners complain that these guests do great damage to their property. These damages are required to be paid by the condo owner.

DOWN 55 POLICE OFFICERS

Hundred milers are notorious for placing as many as 10 guests in a condo that legally sleeps six.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department is currently down 55 police officers from previous years.

During the busy Memorial Day weekend, the City of Myrtle Beach called in 300 “out of the area” police to support MBPD.

This week there will be no such support. The Hundred Milers have a history of causing issues along Ocean Boulevard during their annual three day stay in the city.

One week after the Hundred Milers leave town, Carolina Country Music Festival attendees will check in. CCMF officials report that this year’s event is completely sold out.
