After an exhaustive nation-wide search Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune and city council announced the selection of Jonathan Fox Simons, Jr. as the new city manager.
Simons replaces departing City Manager John Pedersen. Since 2015, Simons has served under the direction of Pedersen.
Simons was, until today, the Deputy City Manager of Myrtle Beach. He has been with the city of Myrtle Beach since 2015 when he was hired as an assistant city manager.
