Horry County residents are war weary of the incessant Jaime Harrison ads. They are literally everywhere.
Harrison tweeted on Saturday that his supporters donated more than $2 million in 48 hours to the “Lindsey Graham Retirement Fund.” Harrison raised an astonishing $57 million from July through September, the highest quarterly fund-raising total for any Senate candidate in U.S. history and part of a flood of Democratic money remaking the battle for control of the U.S. Senate.
Recent polls, however, show conservative voters coming home to Lindsey Graham.
According to a Starboard Communications survey conducted on October 26, more than half of the likely voters polled (52 percent) said they back the Republican, compared with the 43 percent who chose Harrison.
The red meat “Trump” conservative voters in S.C. will determine who wins the Graham – Harrison race.
Those voters appear to be coming home to Graham, although many say they are holding their nose to cast their vote. Graham’s efforts in the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett certainly helped his cause.
Hard core conservative voters have never been especially fond of Senator Graham, however, as he tends to lean too liberal for their own set of personal politics.
It appears the prospects of a Senator Harrison is beyond the pale for conservative S.C. voters.
