There is an investigation underway into the crash of a Myrtle Beach police cruiser into Pier 14 on Saturday night.

MBPD Cpl. Chris Starling confirmed this past Saturday that around 11:40 p.m. a Myrtle Beach police officer driving a beach patrol car hit a pylon attached to Pier 14 on North Ocean Boulevard.

In video sent to WBTW from a viewer, the pier shakes after a loud crash in the 1300 block of N. Ocean Boulevard at about 11:40 p.m.

Other information was not immediately available. Myrtle Beach police are investigating.

The name of the officer has not been provided by the City of Myrtle Beach to local media. The damage done to the Myrtle Beach police cruiser is extensive said locals who were on the scene.
