This Article Has Been Updated As New Information Has Come In

We noted that Trey Skidmore’s white truck was nowhere to be found on either property listed below at 4:30 a.m. March 12th, when these pictures were taken.

After this week’s NMB candidate forum, questions continue about exactly where North Myrtle Beach City Council Candidate Trey Skidmore currently lives.

North Myrtle Beach voters will choose among Skidmore or Tidewater resident Ronnie Nichols this coming Tuesday March 16th in a run-off election for City Council.

As can be heard above, Skidmore glosses over his housing situation. He explains he is temporarily living in an R.V. located at 37th Avenue South until construction on a new home in Charleston Place is started and completed.

Skidmore’s filing with the Horry County Elections Commission lists him as living at 1000 37th Avenue South (Lot 10).

He told viewers of the DestinationNMB candidate’s forum that he was living in a R.V. at this location. The actual home our navigation sent us to on Monday was a mobile home, not a R.V. Our car navigation was outdated, however.

The area has completely changed since 2019. A run down, trailer park is actually one block south and adjacent to the R.V. Park.

Here is the actual R.V. parked at Lot 10

We called Sandy Martin’s team at the Horry County Elections Commission, they informed us a Ray Skidmore is registered to vote at LOT 32 in the same R.V. park.

Here is the R.V. parked on lot 32, which buttresses lot 10

We are told that Skidmore’s father, also named Ray Skidmore lives in the R.V. resort as well with his wife and two children.

Trey Skidmore has been paying the 4% residency tax at his former residence of Surfwood Estates. However, he sold this property. The property was sold in December 2020 for $899,000.

Skidmore owns the R.V. park in question, however, his explanation of living in the R.V. above is fluid at best. Sources tell us it will take from 6 months to 12 months to build a new home with the current back log of building supplies.

Will Skidmore, who is accustomed to living in an almost $900,000 home continue to live in a R.V. for 6 months to a year, especially with 2 children living in those arrangements?

Skidmore owns a construction company. Is he personally building his new home in Charleston Place? Are his wife and children now actually living in a R.V.?

WHY THIS MATTERS?

Cash starved news outlets refuse to do the hard work of journalism today.

Trey Skidmore will take office immediately should he be elected on Tuesday. The law requires him to live inside the city limits.

We reached out to Skidmore on Tuesday, March 9th as follows: Skidmore did not respond to our call nor our texts. He never chose to clear up the narrative presented below.

Transparency

Hatley 3
QUALIFIIED TO LEAD

North Myrtle Beach is one of the best run cities in America. The mayor is a straight shooter and very transparent.

It concerns us that Mr. Skidmore refused a simple explanation concerning his family’s current living arrangements.

Transparency is what is needed most from any elected politician.

North Myrtle Beach has yet to get the full story on this issue. We encourage Mr. Skidmore to clean this up before Tuesday’s election.
