Myrtle Beach officers responded to a reported stabbing assault near 7th Avenue North, and Flagg Street around 4:23 am this morning.
Officers located one injured person who was taken to the Grand Strand General hospital for treatment of apparent stab wounds.
The attacker fled the scene before the arrival of officers. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact MBPD at 843-918-1382 and reference 22-000899.
The City of Myrtle Beach recently purchased the hotels in this area in an effort to rehabilitate and redevelop this portion of town.
Chester Street, Flagg Street and 7th Avenue North have been some of the most crime ridden areas in the downtown district for the past 5 years.
