Despite facing the enemy and direct fire in the middle east, questions remain if former marine John Warren can take the onslaught just ahead from Team Horry, Governor McMaster and the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber.

It’s a daunting challenge,  but not insurmountable.

Johnny Gardner,  Horry County Council Chairman elect and William Bailey, District 104 Representative just took on those giants and won.

Warren will need a win in Horry County, if he hopes to become S.C.’s next governor.   McMaster and the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce are calling in all the big guns including the entire local Horry County delegation which is largely made up of Myrtle Beach Area Chamber Of Commerce insiders.

McMaster has also worn out the name of Donald Trump in radio, TV and Facebook advertising.  Trump is a hard nosed street fighter.  McMaster is an aristocratic Old South politician.  The two candidates could not be more opposite.

The 71-year-old governor will continue to promote his experience as a former U.S. attorney, attorney general and lieutenant governor (and friend of Trump?).

The 39-year-old political newcomer will pledge a government makeover since he owes no favors in the Statehouse.

The run off is June 26th.   Warren and McMaster will get one direct shot at each other this Wednesday during a televised debate from the Newberry Opera House.  The debate can be seen live on SC ETV networks.
