After being cooped up indoors over winter and during the Pandemic, everyone is looking forward to getting outside and enjoying the sun. However, if ever there was a time to take good care of your health it’s now. After all, CoronaVirus still poses a threat. The good news is that apart from wearing your mask and adhering to social distancing rules, there are some other actions you can take to ensure you stay as healthy as possible this summer. Read on to find out what they are.

Wear your SPF!

In the summer one thing that can help you keep yourself healthy is sunscreen. Indeed, it can not only stop you from getting a nasty and painful sunburn but protect you from the long-term effects of the sun like Melanoma.

With that in mind, applying sunscreen if you will be out of doors is essential. Be sure to choose one that is waterproof too as this will ensure you are still protected if you sweat or if you choose to take a dip.

However, if you don’t fancy reapplying your sunscreen every few hours you may wish to choose one that only needs to be put once in the morning. These are known as once a day sunscreens, although recent studies such as described in the article at which.com have called into question how effective these may be.

Hydrate

Staying hydrated is also another smart way of being healthy this summer. In fact, there are some nasty things that can happen to your body when you don’t drink enough in the meal including having issues like eczema and rheumatism. Not to mention accurate dehydration which can be very unpleasant and dangerous.

Of course, not everyone loves to drink plain water, but it’s worth noting that there are some other hydrating and good for you options as well. For example, flavored water is a great way to make sure you stay hydrated, you can even flavor water yourself with fruits like lemon, and herbs like mint.

Additionallionally, you may wish to up your intake of fresh juices as well, as these contain not only plenty of water but lots of healthy nutrients as well. The good news is that you can now go to goodnature.com and get high-quality juicers to use at home. Something that means you can make delicious and nutritious juices quickly and easily all summer long.

Try taking a dip

Exercise is another way to ensure that you stay as healthy as possible this summer. Although if you don’t fancy working up a sweat in the heat, why not take up swimming instead? The great thing about swimming is that you can choose to swim in the sea, in local baths, or even in rivers or lakes.

However, if you do go for the wild swim options you will need to be mindful of any hazards such as currents, and rip tides, and any diseases that might be present in the water. In fact, it’s pretty important that you check the spot you have chosen is safe for swimming before you dive in, otherwise, despite your healthy intentions, you could end up sick!
