The drama continued tonight at the Horry County Republican Party as HCGOP Chairman Roger Slagle attempted to un-resign.

His resignation, however, has already been accepted by SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick.

We spoke with several HCGOP executive committee members who confirmed a request was made to adjourn tonight’s meeting. It was then seconded, and the meeting was closed.

Members expressed that Mike Connett is officially the interim HCGOP Chairman until a proper re-organization can be held.

State Executive Committeewoman Tracy Bean Diaz has officially resigned her post effective this Saturday, October 1st.

Former candidate for Horry County Council District 7, Jeanette Spurlock told MyrtleBeachSC News that as far as she was concerned, Roger Slagle, was in fact, Horry County GOP Chairman until his term expires.

Spurlock also informed us that former HCGOP Chairwoman Dreama Purdue was served by a process server over disputed funds that current leadership state are missing and unaccounted for.

HCGOP MEETING ON SEPT. 26th

On Sunday, September 25th, local shock jock Chad Caton went on a tirade against local attorney Reese Boyd.

Members stated today that the floor had the necessary votes to elect Reese Boyd as HCGOP Chairman had Slagle not taken this unprecedented move.

PARTY VIABILITY

Questions remain as to whether the Republican Party is a viable operation in Horry County until this divisiveness runs its course.

With 44 days to go until the Fall midterm elections, leadership picked a peculiar time to literally torch the party to embers.
