It’s already time to vote again.

Early voting for South Carolina’s party primary runoffs starts June 22 and will go through June 25, meaning voters have only three days to cast their ballots for races facing a round two.

The actual runoff date is June 28.

Horry County Council Chairman Johnny Gardner will be challenged by Development Industry Insider Candidate Mark Lazarus. Lazarus previously held the chairman’s position, but was defeated by Gardner in 2018.

David Cox will be challenged by Helen Smith.

In Surfside Beach, Freedom Caucus Minded Candidate Brian Sweeney will be challenged by Lawyer Val Guest, another Myrtle Beach Area Chamber Industry Insider.

In the June 14th primary, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce ran the table on its slate of preferred candidates.

The two statewide races still to be determined will draw the most attention. They are the race to pick a Republican nominee for state superintendent of education, and Democrats picking their candidate for U.S. Senate.
