Recently retired Senior Police Officer Tammie B. Durant announced her intentions to run for Myrtle Beach Mayor yesterday.

Durant is a resident of the City of Myrtle Beach. She recently retired as Senior Police Officer of the Florence Police Department.

Just hours after her announcement, Durant reached out to us via Facebook messenger stating, “I am looking forward to campaigning and making Myrtle Beach a safe place once again.

FIXING THE MYRTLE BEACH CRIME ISSUE

Durant’s knowledge of crime prevention, public safety, and crime related issues would be a tremendous plus were she elected.

Over the past decade, the City of Myrtle Beach has become known as a high crime tourist destination.

Durant was highly loved and well respected during her time as Senior Police Officer in Florence, S.C. Perhaps Myrtle Beach residents are now ready to address the high crime downtown by electing a candidate with a reputation for getting the job done.

Durant will currently face off against incumbent Mayor Brenda Bethune and challenger Gene Ho in November.
