Oceanfront Hotel Myrtle Beach Shooting Now In Progress

Former Mayor Mark McBride is live on the scene at a Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Hotel downtown. Myrtle Beach crime is high, even in the offseason.

The shooting began around 8 p.m. October 17, 2020

One taken to hospital.

Myrtle Beach averages approximately one shooting every week throughout the year.

The Myrtle Beach police department is currently 77 officers short. Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune ran her 2017 campaign promising to hire 5 police officers every year. Those promises were not kept.

The downtown area continues to struggle combating gun issues on a weekly basis.
