Meeting:

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), in conjunction with Horry County, will hold a Public Information Meeting on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, on the proposed improvements to US Highway 701 in Loris. Improvements include extending the existing three-lane section from Loris to the SC Highway 9 interchange. The addition of turning lanes and bike/pedestrian facilities will be included in the design. The meeting will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Loris Elementary School (901 SC-9 Business).

Citizens will have the opportunity to view the proposed improvements, speak with project team members and provide written comments. Formal, verbal comments will not be taken during this meeting. The meeting will be a drop-in format; no formal presentation will be made.

Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is to provide citizens an opportunity to review and discuss the proposed improvements to US Highway 701 Widening – North of Loris, with representatives from SCDOT and Horry County. These improvements are intended to improve the capacity and safety of the corridor. Personnel from SCDOT and Horry County will be available to answer questions and discuss the project with interested citizens on an individual basis.
