The SC Venues Crisis Creative Director, Kynn Tribble, will be leading a Town Hall at Ricky’s Dockside in Little River this Monday, June 26th at 7 p.m.

Small family owned venues in North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, and Carolina Forest are having a problem finding business insurance after Senator Luke Rankin and Senator Gerald Malloy sponsored a bill that passed into law in 2017 leaving those owners with unending liabilities.

Insurers who provide this type of coverage are leaving the state. This will cause bars and entertainment venues to close with the laying off of thousands of tourism related employees. It will cripple the Grand Strand local economy.

EXAMPLE: Should a patron have a meal with a beer at Buoys on the Boulevard at 5 p.m., and then go and shag at Fat Harolds, and then go see an event at the House of Blues, per Rankin’s law every venue listed above could be sued if that patron had a car accident after leaving House of Blues.

SC Venues Crisis is asking local business owners and local patrons to attend the Town Hall for more awareness of how crippling this law is for small bar owners. ( Town Hall Meeting – Ricky’s Dockside, Little River | Facebook).
