America’s Family Beach, along with one of the Grand Strand’s favorite mayors, Surfside Beach Mayor Bob Hellyer, celebrated Memorial Day today with a golf cart parade.

Mayor Hellyer congratulated the winners of the best decorated carts in the parade.

Golf Carts lined up on 16th Ave North at 1:15 pm. The parade started at 2 p.m. and ran through the town.

This event showcased the tremendous amount of civic pride locals have in Surfside Beach. The town is known for its “higher end” family tourists.

Tourists gathered on both sides of the street to watch and enjoy the parade. Surfside Beach officials expressed their sincere appreciation for all who served our county, as well as, those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
